FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Clear answers for organizations, specialists, advisory firms and solution providers considering The ITAM Exchange.

What is The ITAM Exchange?

The ITAM Exchange is a curated initiative for organizations, specialists, advisory firms and solution providers working across IT asset management, software licensing, SaaS spend, FinOps, publisher risk, technology cost management and ITAM tooling.

What problem does it solve?

Many ITAM and licensing decisions fail because the problem is poorly scoped before the market is engaged. The exchange helps turn unclear demand into structured initiatives and better-fit routes to expertise.

Is The ITAM Exchange a marketplace?

No. It is not positioned as an open freelancer marketplace, bidding platform or instant hiring site. Participation and visibility are curated, reviewed and based on relevance.

Who is an expert or specialist?

An expert or specialist is an individual practitioner with credible experience in areas such as software asset management, license compliance, publisher audits, SaaS optimization, FinOps, cloud cost governance, vendor negotiation, ITAM tools or technology sourcing.

Who is a solution provider?

A solution provider is a vendor, platform or service organization offering tools, data, managed services or technology that can support ITAM, SaaS management, FinOps, license intelligence, compliance or optimization outcomes.

Who is an advisory firm?

An advisory firm is a consulting or professional services organization that helps clients plan, assess, remediate, negotiate or operate ITAM, SAM, licensing, FinOps, sourcing or technology cost initiatives.

Who can submit an initiative?

Organizations can submit initiatives related to ITAM, software licensing, SaaS spend, cloud cost, vendor management, renewals, audits, optimization, tool selection or advisory support.

What happens after I submit a form?

Your submission is logged, assigned a reference ID, reviewed for completeness and fit, and moved into the relevant next step. You can check public progress using your reference ID and submitted email address.

How are experts and firms reviewed?

Submissions are reviewed for relevance, domain credibility, capability depth, category fit, availability and potential conflicts. Approval is not automatic.

Can vendors submit listings?

Yes. Vendors and solution providers can submit listings for review. A listing submission does not guarantee public placement, recommendation or commercial engagement.

How does status lookup work?

Submitters can use the email address used in the form and the reference ID from their confirmation details to check public status information. Private internal review notes are not shown.

How do you handle confidentiality?

Submissions are treated as confidential business information. Details are used for review, qualification, routing and relevant follow-up. Sensitive information should be limited to what is necessary at the intake stage.

Do you share project information with everyone in the network?

No. Information is shared selectively and only when relevant to review, scoping, routing or engagement discussions. The exchange is designed to avoid broad, uncontrolled exposure of sensitive project details.

Should I include confidential contracts or audit documents in the initial form?

No. The initial form should contain enough information to understand the initiative. Highly sensitive files, contracts, audit notices or commercial data should be shared only after an appropriate process is agreed.

Does The ITAM Exchange provide legal advice?

No. Content and coordination are for general information and business decision support. Legal, tax or regulatory advice should be obtained from qualified professional advisers.

How can I contact The ITAM Exchange?

Use the contact page or email hello@itamexchange.com. For status updates, use the status lookup page first if you have a reference ID.
